Amanda has over 20 years of experience in Planning and Environmental Law. Her career has spanned being a solicitor for private law firms as well as for the Environment Agency and Bristol City Council. Her knowledge of planning law is extensive, and together with the experience from both sides of the planning process, enables her to deliver the results clients need. Amanda’s specialities include advising on enforcement issues and Certificates of Lawfulness, appeals (including advocacy), as well as assisting clients in s.106 negotiations. Amanda is also active in the local community being a member of Soroptomists International
Senior Planning Consultant
A former Senior Planning Enforcement Officer, Mark had 14 years of experience gained from working in the Planning Department at North Somerset Council before joining our team. Mark advises people on planning and enforcement matters covering a wide range of activities including guiding people through all of the various stages of the planning process, helping people to resolve enforcement issues, dealing with all types of notices and undertaking appeal work. Mark has also acted as an official witness at Public Inquiry hearings and at prosecution proceedings brought before the courts. Mark is a former member of both NAPE (the RTPI affiliated Network for Planning Enforcement) and the South West Federation of Enforcement Officers.
Senior Planning Consultant
Louis is a Chartered Planner with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) with over 11 years experience in the public and private sectors. Louis began his career in local government with Plymouth before living and working in New Zealand in Auckland's City Centre Team. Upon his return to the UK, Louis chose to work in the private sector as a planning consultant and has since built up a varied portfolio of successful work across the South West and beyond.
Urban Designer
Ricki has over 20 years experience of working within landscape architecture practices of which the last 10 years has been as a qualified urban designer. Working in both the private sector for consultancies and volume house builders, as well as the public sector for local authorities and housing associations, his experience ranges from small householder to large mixed use developments as well as producing masterplans for strategic land allocations, site capacity studies, scenarios and appraisals, site analysis, constraints, and multi disciplinary design team coordination. Ricki also currently sits on the board of a large south west RSL as a voluntary co-optee.
Personal Assistant to Amanda Sutherland
Jessica is the office manager and PA to Amanda and has been with us since 2018. She is responsible for all administrative matters, including invoicing, book-keeping and the day-to-day administrative matters in the office. Working as a Quality Analyst in previous years means Jessica is able to maintain the high standard throughout the business that our clients deserve. In her free time, Jessica undertakes volunteer work with the Cinnamon Trust charity, alongside her husband and 3 children.
